I have an awesome friend named Sarah who is doing a Patreon to help her with continuing her art.
I don’t know what the hell a Patreon is, because it is confusing and I was confused, but it is really helpful to artists and it might even be better than GoFundMe or those other sites. For pledging just $2 a month on Patreon, you will get an awesome drawing by her, like this:
It feeds really well into my vanity. And Andrew’s.
Sarah is an awesome lady who is all for making people with mental and/or physical illnesses visible to the community (although that is my wording). On her tumblr she has her mission statement:
“Illustrating the faces (and gear) of those with chronic pain or illness. Because Visibility matters, and just because your problems are chronic, doesn’t mean you can’t be beautiful too!”
Tumblr has introduced me to incredibly awesome things, like her tumblr. She also sells handicrafts she makes at the following stores”
Storenvy: Signed Prints, + spoonie jewelry and other art/photography
CafePress: Tees, Stickers, Buttons and More**
Zazzle: Tees, Cards, Bags and More
Society6: Prints, Pillows, Rugs and More
RedBubble: Prints, Stickers, Tees and More
Etsy: Signed Prints, + spoonie jewelry and other art/photography
I want you all to consider donating. It’s totally worth it. I don’t know how long it will take for the art to be completed, but it is well worth the wait. Do it. DO IT. It is my goal that she has $10 per illustration. She only needs $6 more. The art is of incredible quality and should be shared on social networking sites for all of your friends to see.
